The PTFE butterfly valve body is usually made of sturdy materials such as carbon steel, stainless steel, ductile iron, etc., to withstand pipeline pressure and external stress. Its internal surface is lined with a layer of PTFE.

Product Description

Valve Type: Wafer butterfly valve Structure: Concentric
Standard: EN593 Workmanship: Investment casting
Sealing direction: Bidirectional Sealing grade: Zero leakage
Temperature: -20°C < T < 120°C Operation: Handle/Lever

Characteristics

The inner cavity of the valve body and the surface of the butterfly plate are fully covered with polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) material, which has extremely strong chemical stability and can withstand most strong corrosive media including concentrated sulfuric acid, hydrochloric acid, and nitric acid. The temperature resistance range can reach -196 ℃ to 200 ℃.

PTFE Butterfly Valve

Advantages

Small opening and closing torque, easy to operate

The friction coefficient of PTFE material is extremely low (0.02-0.10), and the valve seat has a self-lubricating effect, greatly reducing the resistance when the butterfly plate rotates. Whether manually operated or equipped with pneumatic/electric actuators, it can achieve rapid opening and closing with lower energy consumption.

Clean and pollution-free, suitable for high-purity working conditions

PTFE itself has strong chemical inertness, does not adsorb media, does not release impurities, meets FDA, GMP and other standards, and can be used for sterile media transportation in the food and beverage, pharmaceutical industries, as well as high-purity fluid pipelines in the electronic semiconductor industry.

Wide applicable temperature range

Under normal operating conditions, the temperature resistance range is -196 ℃ to 200 ℃, which can adapt to low-temperature cryogenic media and meet the transportation needs of medium temperature corrosive fluids.

Frequently Asked Questions

What media is the PTFE-lined butterfly valve suitable for?
It is ideal for highly corrosive media such as concentrated sulfuric acid, hydrochloric acid, nitric acid, and high-purity fluids in the pharmaceutical and semiconductor industries.
What is the maximum temperature this valve can withstand?
While standard working temperatures range from -20°C to 120°C, the PTFE material itself can handle extreme conditions from -196°C up to 200°C.
Is this valve suitable for the food industry?
Yes, the PTFE material is chemically inert, non-adsorbent, and meets FDA and GMP standards for sterile and food-grade applications.
Does the valve provide a tight seal?
Yes, it features a concentric structure that ensures zero leakage in both directions (bidirectional sealing).
Why is the opening torque lower than standard valves?
The low friction coefficient of PTFE (0.02-0.10) provides a self-lubricating effect, significantly reducing rotational resistance.
What are the available operation methods?
The valve can be operated manually via a handle/lever, or equipped with pneumatic or electric actuators for automation.
