Exacting designs configured to prevent backflow in water treatment, chemical processing, and distribution networks.
As Nigeria remains a crucial economic hub in Sub-Saharan Africa, the development of robust infrastructure across municipal, energy, and processing industries has heightened the need for highly engineered pipeline components. Liquid backflow is a primary structural threat to critical systems, causing severe water hammer, pump casing damage, and uncontrolled fluid loss. Selecting and sourcing high-quality non-return valves (check valves) that comply with demanding design codes is paramount to ensuring project longevity and operational continuity.
Nigeria's fluid handling systems operate under challenging atmospheric and fluid conditions. The primary sectors driving demand for premium check valves include:
In designing pipelines for West African regions, engineers must address the specific local challenges to prevent premature components failure:

For more than 20 years, KR has specialized in the production of standard and custom-engineered valves, ensuring leak-free performance and durability across critical global infrastructures.
Our dedicated R&D division ensures continuous product iteration. Utilizing advanced finite element analysis (FEA), our engineers design valves that meet strict structural integrity and minimal pressure loss parameters.
Operating over 15 high-precision machining centers, we strictly enforce ISO 9001 quality guidelines. Our dynamic inventory management guarantees that scheduled components are dispatched reliably.
Zero-leakage is our operational standard. Every single valve undergoes shell and seat hydrostatic and pneumatic tests in accordance with API 598 and international inspection guidelines before packaging.

From large scale municipal dams to high pressure natural gas systems, KR valves maintain vital flow lines worldwide.
Providing critical control valves and non-return lines to ensure stable reservoir levels and prevent flash flooding backflow.
Optimized for municipal pipelines to minimize head loss, withstand water hammer, and extend continuous pumping times.
Heavy-duty cast carbon and alloy steels deployed in high-pressure oil and gas corridors ensuring strict leak isolation.
For engineering firms and contractors executing government or private projects in Nigeria, regulatory compliance is non-negotiable. Sourcing valves from international manufacturers requires strict alignment with the Standards Organisation of Nigeria Conformity Assessment Programme (SONCAP). KR Valve coordinates directly with accredited international inspection agencies (such as SGS, Intertek, or Cotecna) to secure the mandatory Product Certificate (PC) and Certificate of Conformity (CoC), allowing smooth custom clearance at key ports, including Apapa and Tin Can Island ports in Lagos.
Every valve shipped to West Africa is accompanied by certified mill test reports (MTR) according to EN 10204 3.1. This ensures full chemical and mechanical traceability of pressure-containing bodies and internals. In addition, NACE MR0175 compliance reports are provided for chemical and petrochemical units to verify hydrogen sulfide stress corrosion cracking resistance.
The global industrial valve sector is evolving toward smart asset management and zero emission standards. KR Valve is actively spearheading transitions in:

Dual-plate wafer check valves are significantly lighter and more compact than traditional swing check valves, reducing installation and maintenance costs. Mechanically, they utilize spring-assisted closing, which allows the double plates to shut immediately before the flow velocity drops to zero. This drastically minimizes the effects of reverse flow water hammer, protecting upstream pumps and fittings.
All shipments of industrial valves into Nigeria must undergo the Standards Organisation of Nigeria Conformity Assessment Programme (SONCAP). Suppliers must present a Product Certificate (PC) for the product design and a Certificate of Conformity (CoC) issued after final packaging verification. For petroleum installations, approval documentation from the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC, formerly DPR) may also be required.
Yes. For media with high particulate concentrations, we customize valves with heavy-duty EPDM or NBR rubber flap swing structures. For higher pressure configurations, we hardface the metal-to-metal seating surfaces with cobalt-chromium-tungsten alloys (such as Stellite) to resist erosion and scour from sand particles.
Every valve must pass shell and seat tests before leaving our factory. Testing standards follow API 598 or EN 12266-1. The shell hydrostatic pressure is set at 1.5 times the maximum rated pressure, and the seat test at 1.1 times. Air testing at lower pressures is also conducted for soft-seated models to ensure perfect bubble-tight sealing.
