In modern industrial fluid networks, the wafer butterfly valve stands as a critical asset for space-saving, efficient flow regulation. As a leading custom wafer butterfly supplier, KR Valve Group leverages over 20 years of experience in producing standard and non-standard valves of various types. By implementing advanced CAD design, modern metallurgical processes, and strict quality control, we supply a wide selection of over 500 valve products, including butterfly valves, gate valves, check valves, and water control valves.
Our systems are designed to operate under challenging parameters. Whether controlling high-temp industrial media, managing large-scale municipal water pipelines, or ensuring zero-leakage isolation in corrosive chemical environments, our valves consistently deliver performance. Our export footprint extends to over 50 countries and regions in Europe, Asia, Africa, and Oceania, establishing our role as a trusted partner for global engineering projects.
Understanding the engineering standards behind our wafer butterfly valves, constructed for minimal pressure drop and maximum sealing reliability.
We work with Malleable Cast Iron, Ductile Iron (GGG40/GGG50), Carbon Steel (WCB), and Stainless Steel (CF8/CF8M/SS316). Sealing configurations are available in resilient EPDM, NBR, Viton, or pure PTFE lining for aggressive chemical assets.
Designed for varied industrial integrations. Actuation setups include manual handlever operation, heavy-duty worm gears, multi-stage pneumatic actuators (double-acting or spring return), and intelligent motorized electric actuators.
Our engineering division develops designs conforming to API 609, DIN EN 593, AWWA C504, and BS5163 standards. This enables drop-in compatibility for piping systems across Europe, North America, and the APAC region.

How digital manufacturing, IoT integration, and fluid dynamics are shaping the next generation of industrial control systems.
By employing high-performance CFD simulations, our engineering department optimizes disk profiles to reduce turbulence and dynamic torque requirements. Minimizing flow disturbance lowers the pressure drop across the pipeline, improving energy efficiency for the operating plant over the long term.
We are incorporating smart sensors into pneumatic and electric actuators to enable real-time tracking of valve position, temperature, and torque profiles. This data allows plant operators to predict wear and schedule maintenance, helping to prevent costly unscheduled downtime in processing facilities.
Strict environmental regulations demand tight stem sealing configurations. Our R&D team works with multi-layered stem packing options, combining PTFE chevron rings with energized O-rings to ensure leakage control that complies with fugitive emissions guidelines.
For specialized fluid profiles, we offer high-performance alloy cladding on standard carbon steel discs using laser metal deposition. This process allows us to provide cost-effective corrosion resistance, offering an alternative to solid exotic-alloy discs.
How our custom water control valves, wafer check valves, and high-performance butterfly valves solve large-scale flow challenges.
KR supplied custom hydraulic water control valves designed to withstand high pressure fluctuations. These valves provided stable pressure regulation under varying hydraulic heads, ensuring system reliability in rugged environments.
We supplied large-diameter double-eccentric butterfly valves and spring check valves to a municipal water plant in Italy. The design focused on low-torque operation and long-term sealing performance to meet EU drinking water standards.
For a chemical facility handling aggressive media, KR provided corrosion-resistant PTFE-lined ball and wafer butterfly valves. The material combination helped minimize chemical attack and product contamination, extending service life.
Our manufacturing facility features a modern assembly and machining setup. We operate 15 advanced machining centers, specialized horizontal boring machines, and automated multi-station testing tables. This high-efficiency infrastructure allows us to control the cost and quality of every production run.
To support global supply chains, we maintain key materials in stock, allowing for flexible production scheduling. We manage the entire manufacturing cycle, from raw casting audits and machining to hydrostatic pressure testing. Every single valve undergoes thorough leakage testing before leaving our facility, working toward our goal of zero leakage.
Manufacturing operations are audited to international quality guidelines, ensuring consistency from batch to batch.
Hydrostatic testing, seat leakage tests, and dimension reviews are fully documented and sent to customers prior to delivery.
How we work with global EPCs, municipal distributors, and industrial plants to customize valves for specific project requirements.
Our technical team can design and modify patterns for specific body markings, face-to-face dimensions, or custom flange configurations to meet targeted piping layouts.
We offer various epoxy paint coating configurations, thickness levels, and colors (such as classic industrial blue or deep safety red) to match site environment requirements.
We offer comprehensive logistics management, including sea transport routing, customs documentation, and sturdy sea-freight packaging to ensure goods arrive safely.
Ensuring our products meet international performance and environmental safety requirements.

Frequently asked questions regarding wafer butterfly valve design, installation, and materials engineering.
Wafer butterfly valves are designed to fit between two pipe flanges, clamped by long bolts that span the entire body of the valve. They offer a compact design and are typically more cost-effective. Lug type butterfly valves feature threaded inserts (lugs) on the valve body, allowing them to be bolted directly to the piping flange from both sides. This enables dead-end service, where one side of the piping can be disconnected without depressurizing the entire system.
EPDM is a suitable resilient option for water, steam, and mild chemicals within a temperature range of -20°C to 120°C, offering reliable bubble-tight sealing. PTFE is preferred for corrosive environments, acids, hydrocarbons, and higher temperatures (up to 180°C), though it is less flexible and requires higher operating torque.
Concentric designs position the stem in the center of the disc and body, causing constant contact between the disc and the seat during rotation, which can increase wear. Double eccentric valves feature an offset stem axis, allowing the disc to lift off the seat quickly upon opening. This design reduces seat wear, lowers operating torque, and helps extend the service life of the valve.
To provide a detailed recommendation, we require: target medium, temperature range, operating pressure, nominal pipeline size (DN or NPS), flange drilling standard, preferred body/disc materials, and actuation type (manual, pneumatic, or electric).
